New meal plan templates in Nutrium for your nutrition appointments

To continue making your work more efficient, we launched a new feature that will streamline your consultations and the creation of meal plans for your clients: meal plan templates.

Since always, the nutrition professionals who work with Nutrium can check and use our meal plan templates, which cover clients' energy needs from 1200 kcal to 2500 kcal.

With this new update, we are releasing new meal plan templates for special nutritional and dietary needs. We know that creating such specific dietary guidelines can take more time than expected and require special attention to particular nutrients and foods.

Now you can find in Nutirum vegan, high protein, dairy-free, or high fiber meal plans templates, among others.

What are the advantages of using Nutrium meal plan templates?

With Nutrium, you can already import the meal plan templates available in the software to a client's profile while giving the nutrition appointments. You only need to make a few adjustments according to the client's energy, meal frequency, or even specific food preferences.

When you are in the section Meals of the appointment layout, you can click on the import button and choose the templates as a baseline. Once you pick that template you can:

  • Decide on what days of the week you want to add those recommendations;
  • Decide if you want to import the template at that moment or schedule for a future date;
  • Change the quantity or the serving size of any food products;
  • Add or delete any food item on the template according to the clients' needs;

Any changes made to the meal plan template will not affect its original version, and you can also save them into a new version.

Using these templates allows the nutrition professional to have more flexibility during the nutrition appointment and more time to focus on the client.

What are the new templates available?

The meal plans already available on the software cover a range of kcal from 1200 to 2500 kcal, all compliant with the macronutrients distribution of 20% protein, 50% carbohydrates, and 30% fats, using the food products available in Nutrium.

The new templates were developed by a UK nutrition professional using both McCance and Widdowson's 'composition of foods integrated dataset and The USDA Food Composition Database.

The new templates available are:

  • Dairy-free gluten-free meal plan;
  • Gluten-free meal plan;
  • High fiber meal plan;
  • High protein meal plan;
  • Lacto-ovo-vegetarian meal plan;
  • Lactose-free meal plan;
  • Low carb meal plan;
  • Low residue meal plan;
  • 2000 kcal meal plan (Pre and Post Workout included);
  • Vegan meal plan.

In these meal plans, you can find foods and meals appropriate for these dietary needs with a different range of kcal. You can import them to any client's profile and change quantities according to their needs.

How to import a meal plan template

To import the meal plan directly to your clients' diet plan, you need to access the page Meals of their profile and click on the Import button. Next, you need to choose the section System meal plans and choose the one you want to add. Make adequate adjustments, and the meal plan is ready.
